If holiday shopping on Thanksgiving makes you feel like a Grinch, we have a Black Friday plan that will let you sleep in and still score at sales.

Not only are some South Florida department stores opening at a civilized hour, they also are offering ways to relax on the busiest shopping day of the year. Many offer restaurants, bars and spa and beauty services in salons.

"It doesn't have to be a frenzy experience. Go in, shop and then have a nice ladies' lunch," says Ginger Reeder, spokeswoman for Neiman Marcus, which has stores in Fort Laudredale and Boca Raton.

Following is a rundown of stores, hours and Black Friday specials and events.

Bloomingdale's: Shop and then wine and dine at Petrossian Rendez-vous Cafe and Forty Carrots from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Boca Raton, 561-394-2000; 59th and Lex Cafe will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Aventura, 305-792-1000.

Dillard's: Find plenty of the steals at this trendy department from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Fort Lauderdale, 954-565-5245, and Plantation, 954-370-8182.

H&M: The on-trend stores are offering $5 sweaters and $10 pants and other deals from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., so you can buy something for everyone on your list. 3101 PGA Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens, 561-626-9445, and 541 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, 855-466-7467.

JC Penney: JCP is holding its "One Big Sale of the Year" from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and giving away 80 million buttons that can be redeemed for a chance to win prizes including vacations, merchandise and gift cards.

Neiman Marcus: Grab a friend, shop from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and then gossip over a glass (or two) of wine at the Little Mermaid Bar at the Galleria in Fort Lauderdale, 954-566-6666. From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Boca Raton, get complimentary facials and then head to Mariposa, right, for a snack and a cocktail, 561-417-5151.

Nordstrom: Forget Thanksgiving leftovers and make a reservation at Bistro N. Yummy eats include crab bisque, steak au poivre and crispy chicken frites. Hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Town Center at Boca Raton, 561-620-5555.

Saks Fifth Avenue: Open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., this high-end department store will offer specials and complimentary makeovers at Town Center at Boca Raton, 561-393-9100.

Lauren Tannehill celebrates opening of Sawgrass Mills Fashion Row on Thursday

Just in time for holiday shopping, the world’s largest outlet mall gets larger.

Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise is set to celebrate the recently opened 140,000-square-foot expansion with a “Fashion So Sweet” shopping party at 6 p.m. Thursday.

The new wing at the Simon property, known as Fashion Row, is anchored by the largest Calvin Klein outlet in the country, an uber-hot Steve Madden shoe store, DKNY Company Store and a MaxStudio outlet, among other retailers.

Lauren Tannehill, wife of Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill will get the party started as a DJ spins and cocktails and nibbles are served. There will be exclusive promotions at the new stores and a coupon book offering $500 in savings will be available for a small fee. The first 150 to RSVP to Sawgrass Mills Facebook page get an exclusive gift from Calvin Klein.

Tannehill tells us all about the event and talks about life in South Florida in an exclusive SouthFlorida.com interview.

“It’s an exciting event,” Tannehill said. “They’ve added a Steve Madden, which I love. They’re also undergoing a huge expansion for Forever 21, which is a huge hit at any mall. I'll be wearing an outfit from MaxStudio."

The event benefits the nonprofit Emerge Broward, a nonprofit a Leadership Broward Foundation program.

“Fashion So Sweet is a great way for us to celebrate all of the exciting new additions enhancing Sawgrass Mills’ unique shopping experience,” said Joellyn Fellmeth, the mall’s director of marketing, in a release.

Toys R Us will open at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving, adding to the retail trend to push holiday shoppers out of homes well before midnight on Black Friday.

The Wayne, New Jersey retailer will offer a free $30 goodie bag stuffed with toys to the first 200 shoppers in line on Thursday, according to a release.

The first 200 shoppers in line on Thanksgiving will receive a complimentary "Great Big Goody Bag" filled with $30 in stocking stuffers. The retailer also will offer more than 200 doorbusters deals and free gifts on toys Thursday through Saturday.

Some of the offers: A free $20 Toys RUs Gift Card and $30 bonus iTunes Multipack valued at $50 with the purchase of a 4th Gen Apple 16GB iPod touch; a free Nintendo 3DS Headset ($29.99 value) with the purchase of any Nintendo 3DS Hardware and $100 savings on Samsung Galaxy 11 Tablets (was $399) and $50 off a COBY 19” LED HD TV– (was $149.99).

"With Toys“R”Us stores opening at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving evening, an early stop at The World’s Greatest Toy Store will allow savvy savers across the country even more hours to shop for Black Friday values on the toys their children named in their letters to Santa," according to the press release.

Toys R Us will preview deals to its 3.2 million fans on the Facebook starting at noon on Monday.

Target opening at 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving for Black Friday

Target continues the retail trend of pushing Black Friday into Thanksgiving Day.

For the first time, the Minneapolis-based retailer will open its doors at 9 p.m. on Nov. 22, according to a release.

The retailer plans to offer 9 p.m. doorbuster deals on hot electronics and toys and also will offer additional deals starting at 4 a .m. It also will offer special deals online only at Target.com on Thanksgiving Day for REDcard holders.

“We heard from our guests that they look forward to kicking off their holiday shopping with deal-hunting on Thanksgiving night. Opening at 9 p.m. gives Target’s Black Friday guests a more convenient way to create an after-dinner shopping event that the entire family can enjoy,” said Kathee Tesija, executive vice president, Merchandising, Target, said in a release.

“Guests can shop with confidence throughout the entire holiday weekend knowing that Target offers incredible value on items for decorating, entertaining and gift giving.”

On Veterans Day, we honor those who have so honored us with their service and sacrifice to keep America strong and free.

Hundreds of retailers and restaurants also salute the military, offering discounts to veterans, active duty and retired U.S. military, National Guard and reservists on Sunday and Monday. In some cases, spouses and families members are included, too.

Many military discounts aren’t publicized, so be sure to ask if one available before making a purchase or dining and have your military identification so you can take advantage of the deal.

Apple’s Federal Government & Military Employee Purchase Program: Get discounts from 4 percent to 9 percent on Apple products. Call 877-377-6362 for details.

GM Military Discount: General Motors offers savings of up to $500 on most Chevrolet, Buick and GMC vehicles in what it claims is “the best military discount from any car company.” The offer is for active duty members, reserves and retirees and spouses.

Butterfly World: Veterans and active-duty military with ID get in free at the Coconut Creek attraction through Monday. That's a $24.95 value.

Free park entrance: Visit U.S. National Parks for free through Monday; Florid state parks are free on Sunday.

National Parks Pass: Active military personnel and their dependents can get a free annual pass to U.S. National Parks and Fish and Wildlife Service sites. Those 62 and older can get a lifetime Seniors Pass for free entrance to more than 2,000 parks for $10.

Miami Seaquarium: Military, veterans, first responders, city, county, state and federal employees get free admission on Sunday and Monday; guests get in for $11.

Disney's Armed Forces Salute: Walt Disney World is offering active and retired members of the U.S. military, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reservists and spouses may buy up to six 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets for $138 each. Bookmobile rolls into South Florida on Wednesday and Saturday

The Digital Bookmobile rolls into South Florida this week, offering hands-on instruction on how to download free e-books from the library.

Get onboard the 74-foot-long tricked-out truck and get hand-on lessons in the gadgets gallery, which features al lthe best-selling smartphones, tablets and e-readers using the Overdrive application for digital devices used by most libraries.

The Bookmobile will be at the Parkland Library, 6620 University Drive in Parkland from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

and at the Southwest Regional Library at 16835 Sheridan Street, Pembroke Pines from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
